| HOW-TO TIERLIST | ||||||||||
| Please make sure to familiarize yourself with the information in the README. Even if you think you don't need to. Believe us, you do. | ||||||||||
| The following tier lists will provide ratings for each Arcanist, both individually and by team. Each individual Arcanist rating will also include Psycube recommendations as well as the rationale behind their tier. The Teambuilding tab will feature one main 'Carry' per team, plus a list of Arcanists that best support them. Additionally, the ratings are always up for debate. Feel free to discuss in the #CTL Hub thread under the #timekeeper-discussions channel on the Reverse: 1999 Official Discord. | ||||||||||
| Individual Rating Tiers | Team Rating Tiers | |||||||||
| ≥8 | These Arcanists excel at the given content and are often a key component of a strategy. | 0 | These teams are extremely powerful and will almost always outperform other teams. | |||||||
| ≥7 | These Arcanists are really good at their given content but sadly cannot compare to the best of the best. | 1 | These teams are quite good and will often do the trick in handling their intended content/goal. | |||||||
| ≥6 | A player using these Arcanists will feel comfortable clearing most content save for the most difficult endgame. | 2 | These teams are okay but often lack one or more aspects that prevents them from being 'meta'. | |||||||
| ≥5 | These Arcanists are decent in the given content but require better Arcanists to take centre stage. | 3 | These teams are generally not worth using outside of niche situations such as not having the required Arcanists for better teams. | |||||||
| <5 | These Arcanists struggle in terms of viability and either aren't used very often or require a 'cheese team' to function. | 4 | Simply no. | |||||||
| All 6 star scores are rated based on Portrait 0; 5 star scores are rated based on their highest recommended Portrait. | The Teambuilding Tier List is NOT sorted in any particular order | |||||||||
| Ease of Use Ratings | ||||||||||
| Difficult | If you mess up or don't know what you're doing, you miss out on a lot of their potential. Often has a specific and punishing optimal playstyle. Don't bother using these arcanists on Auto. | |||||||||
| Medium | There are ways you can optimize your play to fully unlock the arcanist's potential which involve planning (eg. keeping semmel just above one hit away from death). They'll still perform well on Auto. | |||||||||
| Easy | There are very simple ways you can optimize your play (such as striclty maintaining their ult buff). Or they would only fall into Medium in specific situations (eg. Jiu without buffers has demanding [Liquor] management). They'll still perform decently on Auto. | |||||||||
| Foolproof | If you play skills whenever they're up, you'll do fine. Auto won't lose out on too much (beyond better targeting, using tuning, etc.) compared to a human player. | |||||||||
| All individual or team ratings are based on using them at their skill ceiling, don't be surprised if a highly-rated Difficult arcanist sucks when used on Auto | ||||||||||
| CN Content | ||||||||||
| CN server content will be listed in this sheet. It will be marked with a "*" (asterisk) to denote that the related content/Arcanist/balance changes are not yet available on the Global server. Do note that the rating of characters are primarily based on their performance in CN server. | ||||||||||
| Content Clarification | ||||||||||
| Everyone is rated based on their endgame performance. The Arcanist Tierlist individual scores considers characters a f2p would be expected to have with some planning. The Teambuilding Tierlist is averaging over all gamemodes and does not consider the use of niche strategies for specific stages. The Archetypes List only includes meta full teams, or teams where synergy causes the team to be much stronger than some of their characters individually. Euphoria is a type of add-on buffs you can unlock for a character, they are added to the game in 2.3, and are solely endgame-content, requiring clearing the early levels of Reveries and A LOT of materials to unlock. As of CN version 3.2, the game has 5 major endgame content: Limbo, Lucidscape, Mane's Bulletin (Raid), Window to Other Worlds (Rogue), and Reveries in the Rain (Reveries). · Limbo rotates monthly and yields gacha resources as well as resonance materials. · Lucidscape also rotates monthly and is basically a harder AoE version of Limbo, with similar important rewards. · Raid is thrice per patch and has all sorts of rare materials as rewards. You need fully invested teams of certain units to clear the rewards. · Rogue rewards are permanent. You can claim all rewards even on the lowest difficulty, provided that you replay it enough times. · Reveries has a permanent tower section and a monthly farming section. Here is where you get materials needed for character euphorias, along with difficult challenges which often lean into stage specific gimmicks, calling for specific teams who can answer to a gimmick. Early reveries is anything before 350m, while late reveries is 350m+. Considering the difficulty, reward importance, accessibility and time consumption of each endgame content, each unit is given a score based on how well they perform in an average team in that content, which is then weighted to calculate the Base Score. The Base Score is a number out of 6 and calculated as: Limbo = 0.85 | Lucidscape = 1 | Raid = 1.65 | Rogue = 0.7 | Reveries = 1.8 // over 10 Then, additionally, each unit is given a Team Multiplier which reflects how meta their best team is and how much they contribute to that team. This is then used to calculate the Final Score. The Final Score is calculated as: Base Score * (Team Mult / 15 + 1) Characters will be sorted according to their Final Score. Note that this game is focused around teambuilding. As such, even if the unit is considered 'bad', in the right team (cheesy as it may be) they could perform at a reasonable level. However, it becomes tough when the team itself is bad (i.e. lacks synergy, lackluster units, no niche). | ||||||||||
| Additionally here is a small collection of terms you might not be familiar with: | ||||||||||
| Ult/S1/S2 | Refers to an Arcanist's actions in their kit. Ultimate needs 5 Moxie to generate, S1 and S2 are their two incantation cards, in the order on their character info screen | |||||||||
| DPT/DPM | Damage per Turn/Move, refers to an Arcanist's damage output per Round/Skill used. | |||||||||
| ST/Mass | ST stands for Single-Target while Mass is another way of saying AoE or Area of Effect/Multi-Target. | |||||||||
| Moxie | "Passion" on the CN server. Moxie points are used to cast Ultimate Skills. | |||||||||
| EA/FUA/Riposte | Extra-action/Follow-up Action/Riposte, in-game label for moves which are not done by using AP (which would be active actions). There are subtle differences between the three terms but the community is usually not pedantic about it. | |||||||||
| "Greedy/Generous with AP" | Refers to how much an Arcanist/Team relies on taking Actions. Usually units that revolve around spamming their Ultimates are "greedy for AP" if they cannot generate their own Moxie. | |||||||||
| -Insert Name/+Insert Name | -Insert Name refers to a reduction of a particular stat or attribute while +Insert Name means the opposite. | |||||||||
| [Insert Name] | Usually specific 'named' buffs and debuffs have their name place inbetween [] brackets. | |||||||||
| P0/1/2/3/4/5 | Refers to the Portraits/Portraits of an Arcanist. Think of Resonances from Dislyte, Eidolons from HSR or Constellations from GI. | |||||||||
| E1/2 | Refers to the Euphoria buffs. E1 is the leftmost one listed, and E2 is the second. | |||||||||
| Using Our Assets | ||||||||||
| For any content creator looking for portrait assets to use for their guides, please reach out directly to us in the CTL channel on the official Discord. Huijiwiki also has a wealth of assets to use. While the character art themselves are from in-game by Bluepoch and free for fair use by anyone, significant work is put into making these portraits we use in our guides. Depending on your use case, we may be happy to directly share the files too (e.g. on the Discord's Beginner, Resonance and Reveries guides), but we do not appreciate people we have not had interactions with inserting badly cropped screenshots of the CTL into their own guides. This, of course, does not apply to any discussions about the CTL itself. | ||||||||||
| We hope that this sheet will help you more easily navigate the TL/Information Sheets. Also, as promised, the Sentinel X Marsha Yuri. | ||||||||||
